I started watching the BBC Musketeers series and have become kind of obsessed with the amazing costumes (and beautiful sets!).
So much eye candy!
These two work at local markets in my neighborhood; I really love the diversity of where I live!
What if instead of being proud miserly creatures, all dragons were just super nervous? They hoarded out of financial anxiety and whatnot.
(I doodled a dragon who ended up looking really concerned and I decided to clean it up and draw a few more to go with it. Dragons are the most fun to draw when they are the opposite of fearsome)
Very first round of colors, ugh - so terrible.
I’ve gotten into the habit of starting my sketches off by figuring out the 3 major tones - it makes everything so much easier! Here’s the beginning of another part of the Road Trip series (this will be no. 4!)
Another illustration in my growing series of Road Trip themed pieces.
I’m getting rid of a bunch of stuff, and it prompted me to make my studio more comfortable!
Coming this Wednesday, June 18th is the first issue of Doodle Jump - keep an eye out for both the steampunk and the special store incentive issues with covers by me and written by Meredith Gran and Mario Udzenija, with interior art by Steve Uy!
The weather has been absolutely amazing lately, so today I went on a little trip to Central Park to try out a little plein air painting with oils. So much easier than using acrylics outside (which is damn near impossible IMO). I also got to talk to lots of nice people who stopped to see what I was doing!
Aaaaaaannnddd I’m done!
Progress on a personal piece I’m working on. There’s still a lot to do, but I’m really happy with the progress so far!
Went camping in NH over the weekend, it was so beautiful! Here are some sketches I did of the creek by our campsite.
